Game Care for Your Trophy Mount

Game Heads

• Keep animal cool and dry.
• Transport animal to taxidermist or meat processor as soon as possible for caping of the hide.
• Keep 12 inches behind front legs when field dressing.

Birds

• Keep bird cool and dry.
• Take extra care not to damage the feathers.
• Wrap bird in plastic bag -- not paper.
• Freeze solid and deliver to your taxidermist.

Life Size

• Keep animal cool and dry.
• Wrap animal in plastic bag -- not paper.
• Freeze solid and deliver to your taxidermist.
• In unable to freeze, transport animal to taxidermist as soon as possible.

Fish

• Do not place fish in wire basket or on a stringer.
• Wrap fish in plsatic wrap (Reynolds, Saran) first and then place in a plastic garbage bag.
• Freeze solid and deliver to taxidermist.
• ** Fins become very fragile when frozen.
